Apple has finally updated its Apple Store iOS app, and includes new features that we totally love. The 2.0 version of the app includes features like self-checkout and personal pickup. Users can order any new Apple product and pick it up at a retail store an hour later. You can also have them directly shipped to your door.
In addition to the new personal pickup feature, users can also check in on the status of their order (both current and previous) through the app itself. They can also purchase accessories by scanning the barcode and paying using the app.
Just like when you order anything from the Apple Store, users can personalize their iPad or iPod purchase with free engraving. In addition, they can get signature gift wrapping for select Apple products.
This new EasyPay system is just on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, but makes it convenient for consumers who have it. Just as you can view past orders, you can also view your past EasyPay receipts, making you have all of the information you need in the palm of your hand.
It doesn’t stop with purchases, though. Any app users can check in for reservations, make an appointment with an Apple Specialist in the store, or request help. Genius Bar appointments, One to One reservations, and signing up for workshops and events is just a tap or two away.
Have you used the new app for in-store pick up? What do you think of it?
