If your anything like us (good looking and very intelligent) you’ll be getting sick to the high heaven of ‘Tablet’ news.
But, we do like to report on news in order to be as a complete as possible.
AppleInsider reports that the device is believed to go into production in February for release around March or April of 2010. The analyst agrees with suggestions from earlier this year that the device would feature a 10 inch (10.1) screen. Interestingly, the screen is said to be a multi-touch LTPS LCD screen (just like the iPhone).
Yair Reiner, Oppenheimer analyst released the above information to investors today. He said (which we also have heard) that Apple have contacted book publishers with “an attractive proposal” for offering their products via this Apple device. Mr Reiner suggests that shares will be boosted by 50 – 70 cents. Reiner believes the production line could handle upto 1M units per month.
Mr Reiner suggests the device will sell for $1000. A few magazines have released prototype magazine concepts on a tablet device, which many believe Apple will offer a special section on the iTunes store or a separate bookstore catering for this market.
This device must surely be aimed at the Kindle market. The margin will be roughly 22% per device. This is either correct information, or an analyst look for a little bit of coverage and re-purposing current accepted rumors.

I have a book published to Kindle. Is this going to be the Mac version of Kindle? Will it have the ability to access Amazon for purchases or will I be required to publish to some other place to be downloaded on this tablet? I am a real fan of all things Mac and this looks exciting to me…but, I’m an avid reader and would need to be able to download loads of books. I want to know more about this product and what it will do. I was getting ready to buy a Kindle DX but will wait for this. For sure, it will need to do PDF’s too.
