However you say it, two thousand and ten, twenty ten – this year is going to be a year of change and growth here on AppleReviews.
In the past few months, you may have noticed we had a slight shift towards more ‘news’ like content. That’s great, but AppleReviews was never intended to be a news site. The name says it all really. We want to be a one-stop source of reviews of any Apple related product or accessory. So, this is a route we will be shifting towards.
What does that mean for you, our valued reader? Well, this site will likely have less news (**cough** tablet **cough**) but more review content. Sure, if there’s an Apple event on the 26th, we’ll do a live blog like the last event, but we won’t be posting daily news.
What it does mean is that without needing to post a news item every day, we can focus on a higher quality and quantity of reviews. We can spend more time sourcing review products and keeping this site the one-stop-shop for honest opinions on the products that matter.
Whilst on the topic of reviews, if you wish to have your product reviewed by the team, then you should email me, the Editor, via: ben@applereviews.com. We are always happy to test and share new products and apps with our readership.
Another big development for this year will be the AppleReviews podcast. We’re working on the very first episode as we speak, by positioning our mics and setting up the studio. We want our first episode to go off with a bang, and for that we need help.
We’d like to interview 1 or 2 iPhone / Mac developers for a show discussing the iPhone, where the development is going and how to get into iPhone development. If your interested, again, please email: ben@applereviews.com.
We also hope to have a listeners section, where you can email or phone in (via Skype) any questions or comments about your mac, and have them answered in the podcast. We’ll inform you of the Skype account once it is set-up, but in the meantime you can email our Editor (do you really need it a 3rd time?
).
So, here’s to 2010 and a year of growth, change and hopefully fun. Stay tuned for further updates and our big iMac 27″ extended test.
