The app was released a few hours ago, and has already almost reached the top 25 best selling Apps on iTunes.

1. You take your picture every day

2. You line up your beautiful face on a grid so that it lines up evenly (for the movie)

3. You set reminders (popups with sound) to remind you every day to take a picture

4. When you are ready, you simply push a button and it makes a movie timelaps of your daily face pictures

5. You then enjoy watching the video, and laugh all the way to the bank!

6. You can easily auto (or manually) share the movie to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Etc.

This is the best App we have used in ages, its just way to much fun.

Some products exude sheer quality - from the seams, to the zips and material used. The Urbano range is one such product.

We’re reviewing one of Urbano’s UZRS MacBook and MacBook Pro sleeves. These sleeves are made from 100% real leather, adding that luxurious and supple finish to an already brilliant case.

Features

Exterior:
Genuine Premium Cowhide

Interior:
Soft Scratch Resistant thick Velveteen Fabric with sufficient padding for maxim protection of your laptop.

Easy to operate with YKK zippers and metal puller. Inside surface of zipper has leather trim around the perimeter of zipper to protect the laptop from scratches of the metal puller of the zipper. Zipper extends almost to the bottom edge of the sleeve giving total ease in keeping and removing the Note book in and from the sleeve.

Colors Available:
Black, Dark Chocolate, Pink and Red and Dark Vintage Premium Leather.

Compatibility:

13″ MacBook Pro Aluminum Unibody size 32.5×22.7×2.41 cm

New 13″ MacBook Polycarbonate Unibody size 33.03×23.17×2.74 cm

15″ MacBook Pro Aluminum Unibody size 36.4×24.9×2.41 cm

17″ Mac Book Pro Aluminum Unibody size 39.3×26.7×2.5 cm

The UZRS looks absolutely stunning. It’s one of the most photogenic products we’ve ever tested. In our review, we looked over the Dark Chocolate color option, but the UZRS is available in several other colors:

Black

Dark Chocolate

Pink

Red

The optional colors look quite amazing and are naturally made of the same vintage look premium leather that our test sample is finished in. The stitching on the UZRS is a contrasting color to the surrounding leather hide and this gives a tasteful detailing to the edge of the panels that make up the sleeve. There’s a chromed, mirror finish Urbano ‘U’ on the lower right corner of the sleeve and subtly embossed into the leather itself is the Urbano brand name. All in all, this sleeve is one of the best designed products on the market. This case isn’t all about looks though, at the end of day a sleeve must offer good protection for your valuable MacBook innards.

Internal

The inside is where your MacBook meets with the sleeve. And the Urbano is very form fitting. The designers have made special care to make sure this case offers maximum shock and scratch protection, without damaging the MacBook itself – as some cases do with the unfortunate placement of zips and fasteners. There’s a leather lip around the inside of the zip to prevent the puller from marking your notebook. The inside lining is soft to touch and has been chosen because of it’s softness. This is made from a thick Velveteen Fabric and when pressed on feels soft and flexible so as to protect your notebook as best as possible.

Compatibility

The UZRS is compatible with the current line of the Apple notebooks – but we tested with our 2008 Black intel MacBook model. The UZRS fitted our test model perfectly!

13″ MacBook Pro Aluminum Unibody size 32.5×22.7×2.41 cm

New 13″ MacBook Polycarbonate Unibody size 33.03×23.17×2.74 cm

15″ MacBook Pro Aluminum Unibody size 36.4×24.9×2.41 cm

17″ Mac Book Pro Aluminum Unibody size 39.3×26.7×2.5 cm

Conclusion

We really can’t fault the UZRS – just check our review photos and you’ll see the stunning quality finish! It looks good, it works well and fits perfectly under your arm, in the office or on your coffee table.

We’ve been planning some over-landing / week long trips in our trusty Land Rover and have been searching high and low for a decent journey planner. Not just the type you find on motoring organisation websites or similar. We want a day by day planner, with to do lists regarding our trip. Enter Knapsack.

Knapsack helps in 4 key areas of a trip: Research, Planning, Organise, Revisit.

Research

Knapsack has a powerful map search feature that quickly finds places, addresses or POI (points of interest) anywhere around the world. Search for cities, hotels, museum, airports e.t.c. This is apparently based on an ever-growing online database that is kept up-to-date.

Default view

Adding a new trip. Enter the date, location and a description. Then, you’ll get a day by day break down.

You can add To do’s and activities to a trip

Trip Planner view, simple and elegant.

Organize

Create very detailed, organized trip itineraries, with links, places to go and to-dos. Free car insurance.

As you can see Knapsack is great, light-weight and highly usable app. Be sure to check out Knapsack and get traveling!

The iPhone, well all agree, is the best phone ever made. Full stop. That is until version 5 of the iPhone launches next year.

But enough of that. The iPhone is brilliant, but lacking ‘perhaps’ one minor way. We still haven’t got flash support. And you know what? It doesn’t really matter. Almost every blog, website and forum now support the iPhone very well, with some even developing a special UI just for the Apple handset.

One site that seems to have been cheated of this iPhone based UI is the Google Analytics site. It ’sort-of’ works, in that you can see your stats numerically, but as the graphs are drawn using flash, the whole pile of data becomes a bit of a number barrage. An app is needed and always, there’s several for just such an occasion. Our favourite has to be Analytics for iPhone.

Features

Quick Overview Reports for at-a-glance data

More Detailed Reports for deeper analysis

Supports Multiple Accounts, Multiple Sites, change login anytime

Change date range, chart granularity by Day/Week/Month

Ecommerce, Events and All 20 Goal Reports

There’s pretty much every option available that’s in the proper Google Analytics arsenal..

Traffic shown in a handy graph, just like the real Google Analytics

Many promising apps struggle with hitting the perfect balance of ease of use and usefulness, but Analytics is absolutely spot on. The UI is brilliant. Data is very accessible. There’s nothing worse than having to sit there and learn how to use an app, who has time for that? All you want is an iPhone app that let’s you take a brief glance over your Internet portfolio alongside your morning coffee. Analytics is available for the iPad too.
It takes all the good things of apps like Things or web apps such as TadaLists and improves on them. Firstly, don’t think of Wunderlist as a super-whizzy technical app that has all sorts of different options. Rather, the app is beautiful in it’s simplicity. There’s just enough options to be excellent, but not enough to overpower you. There’s no pointless elements. It’s the perfect meeting of form and function in a to-do list app that we could now no longer live without.

Features

Sync your todos

Multi platform support

Create multiple lists

Shortcuts for creating tasks

Sort via drag & drop

Change your background

Time based tasks

Starred Tasks

iPhone app coming soon

And that’s it. Yes there could be more features, it could do more things – but all would be totally pointless. It doesn’t ping you constantly to ‘remind’ you of all the stuff you haven’t got done. It’s adaptable, flexible and highly usable and we love it. Now we can tick ‘write Wunderlist review’ off…

An excellent UI, cross-platform compatibility and the fact the app is free make this a must download program.

The Ricoh CX3 camera is a truly classy piece of kit. It delivers in every field – design, form factor, functionality, usability and we happen to like it very much.

As with any new camera, the best way to get to know it is check out the spec sheet – the CX3 doesn’t disappoint, packing a large, 10MP sensor with 10.7X optical wide-angle zoom. This equates to up to 300MM telephoto coverage, from a handheld, something that will appeal to many amateur photographers or spies. It’s great been able to pack this amount of zoom and adaptability into your pocket when out and about. The CX3 is essentially the epitome of a good handheld, been light, pocket-sized and robust.

The quality of the CX3 materials is way above average too, Ricoh have used brushed aluminum and a mottled plastic shell to give the camera a very retro, rugged and elegant design. We like it a lot. The flash looks awesome too, it reminds us of an old handheld, winding film camera. Excellent! The camera lens auto-folds away when turning off the camera and vice-versa, helping protect the lens mechanism and make storing the camera away much more conventional, so don’t worry about having to put it somewhere special. This camera folds up and drops into your pocket like any other.

The controls look good and are positioned logically, which is nice to see. We’re fed up of having to muddle our way through awkward controls – the interface goes a long way to helping with this. The large 3″ LCD on the rear has all basic but vital photographic details positioned round the edge. The info is there for those that need it, but well out of the way for those that don’t. This screen is used to playback videos & photos as well as when composing new ones. It accurately replicates shots and features a handy spirit level for aligning shots perfectly.

Scroll down for Sample images and conclusion.

Sample Images

As you can see the camera looks excellent. But a camera needs to take brilliant pictures too. So, how do the pics look? Here’s some sample pics from a recent AppleReviews outing – we’ve made no alterations to the images other than to re-size them.

Colors look good, very striking, there’s little washout even without editing. The camera performs well in low-light conditions too. Noise is occasionally noticeable, but it would be with even a high-end DSLR due to ISO settings. All in all, this is a very impressive little camera and we highly recommend it!

Ricoh’s site has lot’s of information about where to buy, as well as a more-in depth look into the camera’s features.

Watching on movies on the iPhone is an interesting experience. We’re big fans of watching BBC iPlayer

just before we go to sleep, but holding an iPhone becomes very uncomfortable after 10 minutes. You then start to flip and turn and it’s just a pain in the neck. The same thing happens if you’re in the car (but not driving), on a plane, on the couch – you get the idea. Step in the Vuzix Wrap, a very clever piece of kit. These rather unsuspecting pair of sunglasses have a big secret, a massive James Bond like secret. Behind the lens – there’s 2 screens. These screens plug into your iPhone. They support 2D and 3D viewing. See where this is going?

Features

Adjustable brightness, contrast, hue and color saturation

Works with 2D and common 3D video formats including side-by-side and anaglyph

Onscreen menu display for video adjustments and 3D format selection

Ultra-low video distortion

NTSC and PAL compatible

Six hours use with 2 AA alkaline batteries

16 hours use with 2 AA lithium batteries

Wrap mini-port connector for optional expansion accessories (such as 6DOF tracking and compass)

Wearable over many prescription eyeglasses

Adjustable, hypoallergenic nose-piece

Ultra-thin cabling

You get everything you need in the box to get up and running with the Vuzix. We were really excited to test these out. So, we grabbed hold of the getting started guide and we were off. Here’s the general gist of set-up:

Insert batteries

Adjust nose piece if necessary

Adjust ear-plug’s

Connect ear-plugs

Connect to iPhone

Once you know what you’re doing, it’s pretty simple. You can then route all the wires around to tidy things up, using cleverly placed cable hooks in the arms of the glasses. The glasses are pretty comfortable to wear even after long periods, as are the earplugs. Speaking of which, the sound quality is good. These need to be usable and functional too, which they are. The real plus sides of these glasses are the thought that’s been put into the design and concise contents of the box. You get a lot of stuff, but it’s all necessary. They may be a little too bulky to throw in your pocket, so perhaps it would be better to chuck these in your backpack or laptop satchel.

The viewing experience is very good. It takes a while to get used to having two screens pressed less than half an inch from your face, but after a while you can just sit back and enjoy a YouTube video, movie, song – whatever content you watch normally on the iPhone. The best thing about the glasses has to be the hands-free operation. Or perhaps the way the screens always move with your head – so you can turn around and get real comfy. Also, I’m not sure if this is a design feature or what, but there is a gap between the glasses and your cheeks you can look through to see the popcorn bowl. Genius!

You must try the 3D content too. This looks awesome.

Conclusion

These glasses won’t be for everyone. They don’t work as sunglasses, but if you watch content on your iPad, iPod or iPhone regularly, they are a must have. They let you just chill out and watch your favorite shows. An absolute must for any tv junkie!

Have an iPhone 3G/S and a 3G iPad? Likely you’ll have purchased the iPad micro-sim and a separate sim card also on contract and this is costing you

unnecessary extra charges per month.

There is a solution though, to reduce your running costs by utilizing just one card from your iPad. This is all done by using a micro-sim adapter from buymicrosimadapter.com. You could also use this adapter to use your iPhone 4 SIM card in your iPhone 3G/S.

The adapters are made of high quality, durable plastic, manufactured exclusively in Germany. The quality is very good – these don’t feel overly cheap. How’s it work? Well the contact patches on the Micro SIM and the regular SIM are the same size – so by inserting your micro-sim into this it becomes the same size and shape as a regular sim – and works exactly as any regular sim would. Your iPhone should see a standard SIM and work as normal. CNET recommend the Sim Adapter is used by iPhone 4 owners who occasionally need to use another handset, but still keep the same number – again possible thanks to this brilliant little product. It’s a great idea, carried out well and you can find out more information from BuyMicroSimAdapter.com. The Micro-Sim Adapter retails for €4.95 each.

iLife 11

iLife 11 is offered as a $49 upgrade to existing users and new computers will come with it pre-installed. The Apple presentation for apps was very impressive. Here’s some of the new features:

New MacBook Air

Touted as if the iPad and the MacBook hooked up. The new MacBook Air is slim. Very slim. It’s 0.68″ ‘thin’ at it’s thickest. The new MBA tapers to 0.11″. That’s thin. But the best bit is probably the 30Day stand-by life and instant on. No, the best bit is probably the entirely silent operating thanks to Apple using Flash memory exclusively.

Offered in 11.6″ and 13.3″ screens, running at 1366 x 768 and 1440 x 900 respectively.

Prices start at just $999

0.68″ at it’s thickest

Full-size keyboard and glass trackpad

All flash storage, offering great performance (such as instant on)

Standby mode for up to 30 days

Battery life up to 5 hours on the 11″ model and 7 hours on the 13″ model.

Full stereo sound

Plus support for Apple Cinema Displays, SD card reader, 802.11nWifi

Full-size performance in a small form factor

FaceTime for Mac

FaceTime for Mac makes it possible to communicate between a Mac, an iPhone and an iPod Touch. The BETA has been released today – and is available for download here.
