Canabalt is probably one of the most easy and simple iPhone games ever. Here’s the idea. Your running away from some robots blowing up a city. You have to jump from buildings, avoid bombs and boxes and keep going as far as you can.
It’s all operated by 1 control, tapping your finger to jump. The longer you press it down, the higher and longer you jump (depending on speed).
That’s all there is to it. Here’s some of the screenplay:
(hint, the further you go, the faster you go, purposely run into boxes to slow you down and regulate your speed)
Jumping….
Doing some funky parkour style rolls and jumps
A collapsing building. You need to run along these as fast as possible!
Just about to run into a bumb. You need to jump over these, but if you have headphones, you are able to listen for the tell-tale whistle sound of an impending bomb, which will come on the next building you jump to.
Verdict
Overall, Canabalt is a pretty addictive game. Its simple play will mean anyone can just pick-it-up and run! You can play a demo on the Canabalt site. Check it out!
