The Worldwide Developers Conference is finished, and Apple has unveiled its latest innovations.
This includes an update to the sought after iPhone, with the new 3G S. Apple’s senior VP for worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller says this S stands for “speed”.
The new version is twice as fast and more responsive than the previous one, and includes a pile of savvy new features, among them
- video recording and editing
- instantly video send via MMS
- wireless network connection sharing with laptop computers
- a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, auto white balance and macro as close as 10cm
- a larger keyboard with accessible landscape orientation
- voice control
- a digital compass
- iTunes playability with voice
- Support for Nike+
- 5 hours battery life
- 9 hours Wifi
The 3G iPhone drops to $99 USD starting today, and the new versions are available on June 19th at $199 USD 16GB 3G S and $299 USD for 32GB 3G S.

that’s it? I’m very disappointed in apple.. lets be real here, its the same 3g phone. oh wait.. it has a COMPASS me sold!

I’m so glad to hear that they improved the keyboard by making it accessible in the landscape view! That is all I ever wanted. That is the only thing that was holding me back from buying an iphone. So I might get the new 3G S now!
