Itunes 9
Apple have announced iTunes 9, with a new slick store design, ability to share / stream libraries & showed us something called iTunes LP.
Bob Dylan’s “Highway 61 Revisited” a sort of deluxe edition album for $16.99 and one of the first to include new content that is available via iTunes LP. Basically LP includes new enriching content such as extra recordings and bonus videos / photos along with the album.
Codenamed “Cocktail,” the new product is designed to boost album sales, as opposed to individual singles. This feature is a collaboration between Apple as well as EMI, Sony, Warner and Universal.
Other new features include better management of installed iPhone apps (with click and drag organizing, by app, multiple apps or pages of apps – pretty nifty) and also ability to stream libraries between macs within a home.
Steve Jobs
Perhaps one of the best surprises at the Apple event was Steve Jobs headlining. Steve revealed he is now officially back at work for Apple, and has the liver of a 20 year old car accident victim, who he credited with his life. Steve looked about as good as he did before retiring, but lets just leave him alone and let him get better. We continue to wish Steve a speedy recovery to full health and awesomeness.
Steve announced the new iPod nano, whilst the worlds best stand in, Phil Schiller also made an appearance. Big credits to him, we love Phil!
Steve announced he was all well, “vertical” & thanked the Apple community for its support. You can watch a video here. Notice how he tells us, he’s “loving every minute of working at Apple again and working on some awesome NEW products”
