Joby tag the Gorillamobile as the only stand that has it’s very own bendable, flexible legs. The stand is made of set of 3 legs, each made from inter-connected ball joints. These joints have a rubberized ring around the edge to provide grip on smooth surfaces – meaning the Gorillamobile should stick just about anywhere. At the end of these legs, you’ll find 3 feet, each fitted with a rubberized cup again to add to the grip and stability when wrapped around an edge.
The lock ring on top the legs gives you the ability to lock the top joint (above the legs) so the iPhone or device will not move. The top joint also has the locking mechanism that can quick release your iPhone or device (on the generic adapter or camera mount) with a push of it’s button. Very nifty and makes the gorillamobile infinitely more useful.

We used the Gorillamobile in a recent in-car review of another product. The Gorillamobile held our small digital camera firmly in place on our chair, and then on top of the gearstick (stick shift) for our second angle. The mount worked beautifully.
