It looks like Apple is among the many suffering a little bit of hardship in the recent economic drought.
A recent report from NDP proved that Apple’s numbers are among the many companies in the computer industry filled with uncertainty of whats to come. Both Mac and iPod sales were reported as a 16% decrease year to year in February.
According to Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster, a 4% decrease was anticipated. Analysts expected numbers to have gone down, due to strong sales in February 2008 combined with new models, as well as new merchandise to be introduced in March.
Overseas sales (which aren’t part of the tally), combined with March sales, Munster estimates 2.0 to 2.2 million Macs by the end of March, along with 9 to 10 million iPods. Combined with the shipment of new iMacs, Mac minis and Mac Pros, as well as a brand new iPod shuffle, the numbers should grow even more.
And if not, we’re pretty sure that Mac’ll somehow make it happen. They always do.
