Apple annually run a September keynote, in order boost back-to-college Macbook and iPod sales. Last year they announced an update iPod touch, new iPod Nano’s and the 2.1 firmware update. A pretty decent line-up in its own right. But these products aren’t tablet level. The event will be held in San Francisco, most likely at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, which has hosted Apple event’s before.
This would confirm speculation we won’t see an iPad till at least Q1 of next year. Let’s not forget that Apple haven’t even confirmed the tablet exists yet, and there are no credible or verifiable leaks as yet. The blogosphere agrees, this event will be iPod / music focused, with the announcement of an update iPod touch with camera and perhaps a a knew “sociable iTunes”.
However, this event could deliver us one good thing: Could Steve Jobs make his first public appearance for Apple since his October last year? Let’s hope so!
