Since February of 2000, The Sims have continued to be a thriving among video game enthusiasts, with over 100 million units sold since its launch nearly a decade ago.

But I digress; it’s hard to call The Sims a video game at all, but instead, a real life interaction/addiction that takes over your life. And they’re just fueling the fixation with their newest version, The Sims 3.

The game is set to be internationally released on June 2nd, among them to your Mac, iPhone, and iPod touch. Yes, you can take it anywhere.

Features of The Sims 3 include:

Create any character: completely personalize each Sim with their Personality Traits system – every detail completely up to you. You can even fine-tune their physical features.
Decide their destiny: choose long and short term Wishes, controlling whether you want them to fulfill their fate.
Customize each detail: from homes to clothing, you can use their Create-A-Style tool for working with every detail.
Tour the town: Just like you can customize your Sim,you can take them everywhere and anywhere.

It also includes more tools, such as:

The Game Launcher: this connects players to the Store and Exchange, giving news, information about updates, and use “My Studio”, for the ability to track of of downloads, uploads, and everything in between

Exchange: download, share with others, and see what they are recommending. Get access to an online community with free downloads, such as Riverview, a second virtual town.

Create a Movie and Create a Story: these tools allow players to create movies and stories and then share them with family and friends.

Store: Not enough for you? Purchase more content and options from their online store, such as new clothing, furniture, appliances or other items. Included with purchase is $10 worth of SimPoints, which can be used towards downloading exclusive in-game items from The Sims 3 Store, to customize their game. You can purchase bundles for more.

Intel Core Duo Processor
2 GB RAM
ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100.
At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space, with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems, or the GMA 950 class of integrated video cards.
